Over the course of 2015, there were many great movies produced. However, it really wasn’t until near the end of 2015 that the best comedic movies were released. The two best comedic movies for 2015 were ‘Sisters’ and ‘Daddy’s Home’.
Sisters was released on December 18th, 2015 and stars Amy Poehler and Tina Fey as disconnected sisters. This film was directed by Jason Moore. The story is about two estranged sisters who are told to come to Orlando to retrieve all their childhood belongings and mementos because the parents have sold the family home. The sisters are told they have only the weekend to remove everything they want. The sisters decide to have one last party and invite all their old school friends. Of course things go from bad to worse as the party gets louder and more disruptive with all kinds of capers.
The other comedic favorite is ‘Daddy’s Home”, released on December 25th, 2015 and directed by Sean Anders. Will Ferrell stars as Brad, married to Sara, played by Linda Cardellini, and the stepfather to her two children. Mark Wahlberg stars as Dusty, Sara’s ex-husband. Unexpectedly, Dusty phones and finds out his ex-wife has remarried and that his children are being parented by someone else. He sets about to disrupt the marriage, win over his kids, and remarry his ex-wife. He worms his way into the house and befriends Brad who thinks he is a terrific guy. Sara knows better. The comedy continues with both men’s antics trying to win the devotion of the kids and the wife.
