In New York, Michelle Joni has founded a preschool for adults, called Preschool Mastermind. Her intention she says, is to help adults to get in touch with their inner child. The preschool has many elements including arts and crafts, with Play-Doh activities, glitter glue and finger painting, and nap time. The school charges $333 to $999 for classes, and offers its patrons a chance to revisit the days of their childhood, in which there was no stress, with a curriculum that is based on the activities of a normal daycare, but is tweaked with its adult students in mind.
Joni is the preschool’s founder, as well as its head teacher. According to her website, activities offered at the school include a show and tell, in which students share stories ‘to uncover clues on [their] spiritual path’, snack time with themes generated by the students and music time with visits from celebrity guests. There are also lessons and playsheets made available to students, as well as a buddy system, make believe, class picture day and a field trip. Students are even given homework! One patron says that they hope to learn to be more lighthearted, and another wants to conquer their shyness.
